When I create that mask, both text and glint disappear and I just have a black background…

You need to lock the layers for the mask to become visible.

it wasn’t working for me either would follow it step by step. After i would mask it everything would vanish. I messed around with it for a while and found changing the text to “Static” fixed the problem.

Yes, this tutorial works assuming users have the default settings (in this case for text, Static is default – which is why it wasn’t mentioned).

This has really helped me to make an amazing intro to an animation I am making. I only have one problem – that it will only mask one of the pieces of text at a time, but I think I can sort it out. 5/5 from me! XP
